Not a photo

Maybe I’ll start using this as a blog-ish thing since I really don’t have time to take/edit/post photos these days.

Here’s something many of you know about me, but many of you may not…

I LOVE female pop stars. Like. A lot. I don’t even know why. I work in a recording studio for a Juno award-winning rock/folk/awesome/singer-songwriter, but for some reason when certain people come on the radio/iPhone/whatever I can’t help but turn it up (to a safe listening level, of course. No one wants to damage their hearing). Does this threaten my cred as an engineer? Dunno. Probs. But I don’t care.

Who?, you may ask. Well, at the top of the list resides Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Ke$ha, and Adele. I know that Adele is kinda the odd one out because she isn’t really a “pop” singer, but whatever. She’s a woman who sings on pop radio, so she’ll be a pop star for these purposes. Not to be left out is Mariah Carey, but old Mariah (read: “Daydream”).

Why am I typing all this? Mostly to procrastinate from microeconomics. Also to put something up on this blog so I’m not paying for the domain just for email. But also to make sure the 5 people who will see this are aware of my love for this.

I also really love a power-pop band called Relient K, and have forever. Little known fact is that lead singer Matthew Thiessen once dated Katy Perry, and they wrote “Long Shot”, a hit for Kelly Clarkson. Didn’t know that, did you? Do yourself a favour and check out Relient K. Especially the last few records (“Five Score and Seven Years Ago”,and “Forget and Not Slow Down”). Thiessen is also good friends with Owl City, and co-wrote “Good Time” with Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen (of “Call Me Maybe” fame).

Don’t get me wrong. I love all kinds of music. But most of it is what you’d expect. Canadian folk/rock/whatever, classic rock, glam rock, new country, SPRINGSTEEN, etc. But, yeah.

That’s probably it for now.

EDIT: Holy crap. I forgot Taylor Swift. What am I even doing. Straight to the top of the list with her.

EDIT 2: Britney, too. Oops. And maybe early-mid 2000’s Christina.

Haven’t posted in forever. So here is a photo.
This is the sunrise on our last day in the Dominican in April.
I know it’ll be a little too HDR-y for some, but I’ve kinda come to like it!

Day 211
Nights 2 and 3 were spent at the Golden Nugget on Fremont St, downtown. Not a bad place, though I’m not sure we’d spend 2 nights off the Strip if we did it again.
P.S. Yes, I know it isn’t technically Day 211, but I intend to finish the challenge eventually…

Our first night in Vegas we stayed at the Wynn. If you ever have the chance, do it!

Hiatus ending soon…

Hey folks,

I just came back off a vacation where I shot over 1000 photos. Not to mention things I’ve been shooting over the past months. I have some time off coming, so I can’t wait to start editing and posting again!

Keep your eyes peeled for new stuff!
